Each year, the Educational Theatre Association’s awards, grants, and scholarships opportunities honor the achievements of theatre educators, students, and programs, providing award-winners with the financial support to attend Association events or further educational endeavors.
Awards are presented in recognition of notable accomplishments by individuals or theatre programs.
Grants are one-time financial awards presented to individuals or troupes to attend Association events such as the EdTA National Conference or the International Thespian Festival, or to help support the troupe's theatre program.
National scholarships are presented to students to cover tuition and fees, typically based on a combination of merit and career goals.
In addition to awards, grants, and scholarships, troupes and/or students may participate in national programs including: International Thespian Excellence Awards (Thespys), Main Stage and Chapter Select One Act Showcases.
ITF’s main stage showcase honors students, teachers, and Thespian troupes by showcasing their amazing work in theatrical production on the largest of stages – in front of thousands of fellow Thespians and theatre educators at the annual event on the campus of Indiana University.
Groups may have full length and one-act productions adjudicated for feedback only or to be invited to perform in programs including Main Stage and Chapter Select. Applications must be completed by adults.
Individuals may audition for programs including The 24 Hour Plays, Commissioned One Act, and Masterclasses. Rising juniors may audition for college callbacks and interviews. Applications must be completed by students.
Before completing an application, you will be prompted to login using your EdTA login credentials. If you do not already have an EdTA account, create one now.
